Corrections

Every Audkast episode is written and voiced by AI from published reporting, and it can get things wrong. This page says how to tell us about a mistake, what we do about it, and lists every correction made to a public episode.

What happens next

  • We answer within 48 hours and check the claim against the original reporting.
  • If the episode is wrong on a fact (a name, a place, a number, a quotation, who did what), we re-record it with the fix or take it out of the public library.
  • Claims about deaths, crimes or named people come first. While one of those is being checked, the episode can be taken down rather than left playing.
  • Nothing is fixed silently. Every correction to a public episode is listed below, with what it said and what is right.

How episodes are checked before they are published, and what that check cannot catch, is in Accuracy, and its limits.

Corrections made

Keeping up #5 and De qué se habla #1 (published 19 October 2026)

What they said: Paris's city hall was burned during the protests in France, and a police officer was killed.

What is right: the city hall that burned was in Limoges, in central France. No police officer died. The one death reported was a protester who had a heart attack during the march in Paris.

What changed: both episodes were re-recorded with the correction on 23 and 24 October 2026. The error came from a single garbled news roundup, so research for an episode now needs two direct reports before it states a death, a crime or a destroyed building.
